Bookkeeping
Bookkeeping that is done by Wednesday, not by quarter end
Most small businesses are not missing a bookkeeper. They are missing the daily discipline that makes the bookkeeper cheap. A dedicated remote assistant does the entry, the reconciliation and the chasing every day, so your accountant gets clean books.
What is a bookkeeping virtual assistant?
A remote bookkeeping assistant from Remote Talent Hub is a Philippines-based employee working Australian hours who handles accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliation, invoice and receipt processing, payroll preparation, debtor follow-up and BAS-ready month-end files in Xero or MYOB. The cost is between $1,200 and $2,500 a month depending on scope, hours and experience level, with a 6-month replacement guarantee. They work under the supervision of your accountant or BAS agent, who keeps the lodgement responsibility.
The problems this actually solves
Your books are three weeks behind and you are guessing
Decisions made on stale numbers are expensive. Daily processing turns your accounting file back into a management tool rather than a compliance chore.
You are paying $90 an hour for data entry
A local bookkeeper's rate is worth it for the judgement, not the keystrokes. Moving the processing to a dedicated assistant leaves the bookkeeper doing the work you actually need them for.
Debtors are not chased because nobody owns it
Follow-up is the first thing to slip and the fastest to fix. A person whose job includes it every day changes your cash cycle without changing your prices.
Quarter end is a scramble every single quarter
It is only a scramble because the work was deferred. Running it weekly makes the quarter a review rather than a rebuild.
What they take off your plate
Start with the repeatable work. Add judgement work once they have earned it, which for most clients is somewhere around week six.

What it costs against hiring locally
| What you would otherwise do | Time to start | Year-one cost | What you carry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hire locally | 28.1 days average | ~$101,400 | Advertising, interviews, super, leave, payroll tax, desk, equipment, and the risk if it does not work out |
| Use a recruitment agency | 3 to 6 weeks | ~$101,400 plus a 12–18% placement fee | Same salary and overheads, plus a one-off fee, plus a short replacement window |
| Post on a VA marketplace | Days | $12,000–$30,000 | You do the vetting, the training, the HR, the payroll and the cover when they disappear |
| Remote Talent Hub | 7 to 10 business days | $14,400–$30,000 | Nothing. We employ them, pay them, manage HR and replace them free for six months |
What a dedicated assistant costs
One monthly fee covers the assistant's pay and entitlements, recruitment and screening, employment contracting and payroll, equipment, your Australian account manager and the guarantee.
- Hours. Part-time scope sits at the lower end, full time at the upper.
- Seniority. A senior or specialist assistant costs more and needs less supervision.
- Industry experience. Someone who already knows strata or building management software starts producing sooner.
- Software and coverage. Unusual systems or extended hours move the number.
Where you land depends on hours, seniority, industry experience and the software the role needs. No recruitment fee, no setup fee, 30 days notice.

Bookkeeping questions
Can an offshore assistant lodge my BAS?
No, and they should not. BAS lodgement must be done by a registered BAS or tax agent. Your assistant prepares the file so your agent can review and lodge, which cuts the agent's billable time significantly.
What accounting software do your bookkeeping assistants use?
Xero and MYOB most often, plus QuickBooks, Dext and Hubdoc. We screen for your specific stack before you interview anyone.
How do I keep control of payments?
Your assistant prepares the payment run and you or your finance lead authorise it. They never hold banking authority. Role-based access in your accounting file limits what they can change.
What does a remote bookkeeping assistant cost?
Between $1,200 and $2,500 a month in Australian dollars with no recruitment fee. Where you sit in that range depends on hours, seniority and how much of the month-end cycle the role covers. Local bookkeepers commonly charge $55 to $90 an hour, so a dedicated offshore assistant works out well under that rate.
Do they replace my accountant?
No. They replace the hours your accountant or bookkeeper currently spends on processing. The judgement, advice and lodgement stay with your qualified adviser.
